Recognizing the importance of a sound education, NJCU accreditation has been conferred by a number of national and program-specific accrediting bodies.
Why is accreditation important? How is it obtained?
According to the Department of Education, “The goal of accreditation is to ensure that education provided by institutions of higher education meets acceptable levels of quality. Accrediting agencies, which are private educational associations of regional or national scope, develop evaluation criteria and conduct peer evaluations to assess whether or not those criteria are met. Institutions and/or programs that request an agency's evaluation and that meet an agency's criteria are then accredited by that agency.”1New Jersey City University Accreditations and MembershipsNew Jersey City University accredition has been earned through the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
