Corporations and Foundations

  • Corporate and Foundation Gifts and Programs

Corporations and Foundations with an enduring commitment to the region are likewise dedicated to the University, making invaluable programs possible through their generous support in the form of corporate gifts and programs.

The DiversityInc Foundation has supported New Jersey City University since 2006 when Mr. Luke Visconti, Founder and CEO of DiversityInc and Chair of the NJCU Foundation Board of Directors, became a member of the New Jersey City University Foundation Board of Directors. The mission of the DiversityInc Foundation is to fund scholarships for financially disadvantaged students by donating about 4 percent of DiversityInc Media LLC’s gross revenue via the DiversityInc Foundation each year.

Mr. Visconti donates all of his speaking fees to the DiversityInc Foundation, which he founded in 2006. In the past seven years, the DiversityInc Foundation has donated $1 million to colleges and universities.  The DiversityInc Foundation currently serves three schools: New Jersey City University (a Hispanic-serving and minority-serving institution), Bennett College for Women (a historically Black college), and Rutgers University.

The DiversityInc Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund was established at NJCU to provide financial assistance to full-time NJCU undergraduate students who demonstrate pressing financial need and who are majoring in a STEM related field of study such as science, technology and math.

Since 2006, Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation has provided funding for Proyecto Science, a summer program in advanced mathematics, sciences, computer science, and technology that prepares underserved, yet highly-motivated, middle and high school students from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds for careers as future engineers and scientists.
