    NJCU offers a number of scholarships that are awarded on a departmental basis according to specific criteria. Please read each description carefully for application requirements and apply directly to the department offering the scholarship.

    “Bel Canto” Scholarship for Vocal Excellence Fund
    This award is designated for undergraduate or graduate Vocal Performance majors. The student must maintain a cumulative and term GPA of 3.0, and must pass all core music curriculum courses. It is recommended that applicants participate in two music ensembles and/or perform a leading role in an NJCU opera production. Award recommendations will be made at the sole discretion of the Coordinator of Vocal Studies.

    Elizabeth J. Foster Scholarship
    This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate or Master of Fine Arts student majoring in Jewelry and Metalsmithing. The decision will be made by the Art Department.

    Will Hayes Graduate Fellowship
    Established in 1992 by Will Hayes, ’36, this fellowship is awarded annually to an NJCU graduate student who demonstrates need and promise as a full-time student in the Master’s Program in Education. Applications will be reviewed and a recommendation for the award will be made by the Scholarship Committee in consultation with the Dean of Graduate Studies and the Dean of the College of Education.
