Health Consumers:
  • Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) - One of the 13 major operating components of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), provides news, health topics A-Z, data & statistics, information on publications, software, training employment and more.
  • Drugwatch.com - Information about thousands of different medications and drugs currently on the market or previously available worldwide.
  • Hardin Meta Directory of Internet Health Sources  - A list of link collections produced by the Health Sciences Library of the University of Iowa. It is arranged by topic.
  • Healthfinder - U.S. government gateway to reliable health information resources that have been carefully selected by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services from over 1,700 government agencies and nonprofit organizations.
  • National Health Information Center  - A health information referral service, established by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion.
  • NLM Gateway - National Library of Medicine, provides a global search function for Pubmed, Pubmed Central, and Medline Plus. It is an excellent place to begin a search of health-related government information.
  • Medline Plus - Access to extensive information about specific diseases, and links to dictionaries, lists of hospitals and physicians, health information in Spanish and other languages, and clinical trials.
  • Nutrition Government - Access to all US Gov. web site of nutrition.

  • Answer: Sex Ed Honestly - part of the Center for Applied Psychology at Rutgers University—is a national organization dedicated to providing and promoting comprehensive sexuality education to young people and the adults who teach them.
  • Children's Environmental Health Network - a national multi-disciplinary organization whose mission is to protect the fetus and the child from environmental health hazards and promote a healthy environment.

  • National Guideline Clearinghouse - A public resource for evidence-based clinical practice guidelines, an initiative of of the Agency for Health care Research and Quality (AHRQ), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

  • American Fact Finder - Your source for population, housing, economic, and geographic data from U.S. Census Bureau.
  • Data and Statistics, CDC - Provides scientific data and surveillance on diseases, as well as health statistics.
  • FASTATS - National Center for Health Statistics - Quick access to health-related topics such as vital statistics, disease statistics, morbidity and mortality arranged in an A-Z listing.
  • State Health Facts Online - "State-level data on demographics, health, and health policy, including health coverage, access, financing, and state legislation..." for all states and U.S. territories, from the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation.
  • World Health Report - An annual report on human health around the world, including research on health risks, diseases, and disabilities, from the UN World Health Organization (WHO).
