Veteran's Affairs

The Coordinator of Veterans Affairs is located in the University Advisement Center, Vodra Hall 101. The Coordinator assists veterans and eligible dependents of veterans with:
  • Certification of veterans to the Veterans Administration for education benefits.
  • Processing of Veterans Tuition Credit Program forms (VTCP) for students eligible to receive such grants from the State of New Jersey.
  • Processing of tuition credit waivers for members of the NJ National Guard
Academic advisement and approval of proposed schedules during advisement/registration periods are provided by the major advisor or academic advisor. Veterans should schedule an appointment with the Coordinator of Veterans Affairs each semester, to discuss benefits and their academic status.

Operation Promise for Servicemembers (OPS) - A NJASCU College Promise Initiative.
The New Jersey Association of State Colleges is a non-profit, nonpartisan, higher educational association proudly representing New Jersey City University (NJCU) and eight other state colleges and universities. As a service to its members and the public, NJASCU developed the Operation Promise for Servicemembers (OPS) initiative in the fall of 2008 following the passage of the Post 9/11 GI Bill. A primary component of OPS is to provide information to its members and the public through an online clearinghouse of information. Veterans and Active-Duty Servicemembers are encouraged to access and provide input to this web portal by going HERE.

Advisory Tip
NJCU’s Criminal Justice program is one of the most popular in the region. And our nursing program is also highly respected by students and employers.
