The Center for Teacher Preparation and Partnerships (CTPP) is a service
unit within the College of Education. The Center’s mission
is to provide excellent, diverse and equitable urban internship opportunities
for teacher candidates within their partnership school districts:
Jersey City, Union City, Bayonne, West New York, Newark, North Arlington,
Secaucus, Kearny and Harrison. To sustain their mission, the
CTPP collaborates with many stakeholders within the learning community:
the Colleges of Education, Professional Studies, and Arts and Sciences
faculty; district teachers, administrators, community colleges, university
supervisors and teacher candidates.
The Center is committed to expanding its Professional Development
School (PDS) network within each partnership district to ensure the
quality of the teacher candidate’s clinical experience within
a PDS. This commitment and collaboration on the part of the College
of Education, CTPP and partnership districts will greatly contribute
to their collective efforts in preparing highly qualified teachers
as our educators of tomorrow. Additionally, the CTPP is constantly
seeking outside funding sources to implement new initiatives and
strategies to provide additional learning opportunities for students
in the public schools and those in the College of Education.

CTPP Forms
The following forms are listed below and may be completed
online. The forms are separated into various categories. Simply
click on any of the links in order to access the desired form(s).
NOTE: A new "browser" window will open providing
you with the ability to enter the required information (for
the selected form). Simply complete all of the requested information
in each form you want to submit. When you reach the
end of the form, you will see a button that says "FINISH." In order
to submit your information, just click on that button and when you
see the confirmation/acknowledgement page, you can then close the
window. After closing the window you will be returned back to this
page. You can then repeat this process for each individual
form you want to complete.

Internship Flowchart
- Student obtains signed application form at the
time of advisement.
- Student submits completed application form,
resume and candidate agreement form to the CTPP, in P203A.
- All paperwork must be submitted together at one
time, including test scores where applicable.
- The CTPP will register the student for only the
field experience II or senior internship if all requirements
and pre-requisites have been met.
- The Center processes placement applications primarily
in partnership school districts: Bayonne,
Jersey City, Newark, North Arlington, Secaucus, Union City, West
New York, Harrison and Kearny.
- The Center notifies student of internship location
upon placement acceptance and if the school requests an interview.
The student must set up the interview.
- The CTPP will provide two opportunities for field
experience II and senior internship. Following two placement
attempts, the Field Experience Committee will review on a
case by case basis and may recommend transfer out of the College
of Education.
