Applying for Certificate of Eligibility

APPLYING FOR A CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY (C.E.)

In order to get the Certificate of Eligibility, as of July 1, 2017, candidates submit all of the appropriate documentation demonstrating all requirements are met (Bachelor’s degree, Praxis 2, The CORE Basic Skills Test, and a GPA of 3.0 or better.) to the NJ Department of Education- Teacher Licensure & Certification office.

For more information, contact your local Community College Liaison to New Pathways or e-mail the NPTNJ Office at newpathways@njcu.edu.

Please note that students should contact the New Pathways Liaison at the Community College if they require more information about “The Introduction to Teaching” Preservice Component and Semester 1 start dates.

In addition, any time after July 1, 2017 submit your documentation to the NJ DOE in order to apply for your Certificate of Eligibility (CE). Once you have your CE, you may be employed as a Teacher!
