NJCU Senior Bryan Knox Selected to Attend The Henry Mancini Institute
Bryan Knox of Basking Ridge, a senior music major in guitar and composition at New Jersey City University, has been selected to attend the summer program of The Henry Mancini Institute in Los Angeles.
Mr. Knox is one of approximately 80 musicians selected from throughout the United States who will receive a full scholarship, which includes tuition, room, and board, to study and perform with some of today's finest musical masters during the prestigious Institute's four-week program next summer.
Mr. Knox, who is pursuing a bachelor of arts degree at New Jersey City University, will study arranging and composition at the Institute.
Founded by Jack Elliott and named in honor of the memory of his longtime friend, one of the most successful music composers in the history of television and film as well as a popular pianist and concert conductor, The Henry Mancini Institute nurtures young musicians through guidance and hands-on training with knowledgeable professionals.
Based on the goals established by Mr. Elliot, The Henry Mancini Institute also reinforces the need for a commitment to artistic excellence and for training and experience in the ever-changing music industry. Mr. Elliot also developed a versatile program that ensures all of the musicians, regardless of individual backgrounds, experience jazz, improvisation, contemporary, and film music in large and small ensembles.
