Fitness Center
The New Jersey City University Athletic & Fitness Center is a state-of-the-art facility available to students free of charge and to other members of the University community at a fraction of the cost of most health clubs.
The AFC includes:
- Paramount exercise machines, stairmasters, exercise bikes, treadmills, rowing machines, and free weights
- Three racquet courts located adjacent to the fitness center of the main lobby
- An elevated jogging track circling the gymnasium that features three full-sized basketball/volleyball courts
- A 25-yeard swimming pool with an adjacent sauna
You are invited to take advantage of this outstanding facility by enrolling as a member.

Membership applications, tours and identification card processing will be done:
Monday - Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Wednesday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Hours of Operation
Monday - Thursday, 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Sunday, 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
(Activities will cease 30 minutes before building closes.)
Pool Hours
Monday - Thursday, Noon - 2:00 p.m. & 5:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Friday, Noon - 2:00 p.m. & 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Sunday, 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Occasionally, the building and pool hours may be limited because of intercollegiate athletic competitions or special events. The schedule follows the University academic calendar and is therefore closed whenever the University is officially closed and at other times as announced.
Proper identification must be presented for admittance. No exceptions.
For alumni membership, you must present your alumni card in person at the AFC. To obtain your card and receive your special membership benefits, go to Request Alumni Card.
