    Maria Venegas: Bulletproof Vest

    Maria Venegas reads from her memoir Bulletproof Vest: The Ballad of an Outlaw and his Daughter (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2014).  She has written for The New York Times Book Review, and her short stories have appeared in Granta, The Guardian, and Ploughshares.  She mentors children at Still Waters in a Storm, and teaches creative writing at New York University.  She lives in Brooklyn.

    Celebrate International Sculpture Day at NJCU’s Art Department! International Sculpture Day is a celebration event held worldwide to further the International Sculpture Center's mission of advancing the creation and understanding of sculpture and its unique, vital contribution to society.
     
    Come see installations and sculpture by 2017 BFA candidates Victoria Rozario, Jennifer Torres, and Anthony Tran in the Visual Arts Gallery (open 11:00am - 5:00pm). From 10:00am - 2:00pm, visitors can also tour the Art department, including our sculpture graduate studios and sculpture facility, and observe our sculpture students at work.
     
    Portfolio reviews and individual tours can be scheduled by rsvp to Professor Brian Gustafson at bgustafson@njcu.edu
