Martin L. King, Jr. Celebration Luncheon

    Location:
    Student Union MPR
    United States
    Time:12:00 PM2:30 PM

This annual celebration of the life and accomplishments of Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. theme is “Breaking Down Walls of Hate…Still on the Battlefield”. This theme is a reflection of the history of the African American struggle for freedom in a country that has a history of racial division and brutality. Breaking down the walls of hate is a universal outcry to stop police brutality and racial profiling against African Americans and brought about the Black Lives Matter Movement. This movement is a reminder of the past movements and how the fight still continues and will not cease until freedom is won. We will discuss how this movement and those like it as well as before it, is now changing the racial atmosphere in America and around the world.
