    A Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice prepares students with a solid foundation in the practical and theoretical aspects of criminal and juvenile justice. This multidisciplinary program explores the dynamic nature of criminal justice with opportunities to combine classroom learning with practical experience in the field. The program is designed for students seeking careers and individuals who currently work in the criminal and juvenile justice fields.

    All undergraduate coursework, on the main campus, is offered on a dual time schedule. Students have the option to attend classes at 9:00am or 7:00pm on the same day to accommodate varying work schedules.

    The requirements for admission to this degree track are: 

    • A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (CGPA) of 2.0
    • A minimum CGPA of 2.0 in all Criminal Justice courses
    • Completion of at least 42 credits, including the All University Requirements and the following specific prerequisite courses:
      • CJ 111: Introduction to Criminal Justice
      • CJ 112: Crime and Delinquency  
    • Declaration of major upon completion of the above requirements

    Transfer Students
    Transfer students must complete at least 12 credits at NJCU, in addition to above requirements prior to declaring a major.
