Dear Colleague,

This Faculty Handbook is a tool, designed to assist faculty and chairpersons in the performance of their duties. It is a supplement to other sources of information available to the University. It is not a static document. It will be updated and revised when need arises, and it will be expanded if it is appropriate to do so. I believe the Handbook will be helpful to all of us. Your suggestions for its improvement are welcomed and encouraged.

My sincere appreciation is extended to the many individuals who contributed to the production and distribution of this Faculty Handbook.
