Jury Duty
Faculty members shall not have their pay reduced for the time required to attend jury duty that is scheduled during the employees work hours. Time required for jury duty includes actual time spent in commuting.
The faculty member shall be responsible for immediate notification to the University of impending jury duty. Faculty members shall submit to the University written notification to the University of impending jury duty.Source: Agreement, Council of N.J. To Appear As a Witness
All faculty members shall be granted time off with pay when summoned as a witness before a judicial or quasi-judicial proceeding during the facultys normally scheduled work hours to which he or she is not a named party. A faculty member shall be granted time off without pay to appear at a judicial or quasi-judicial proceeding to which he or she is a partySource: Agreement, Council of N.J. Emergency Civilian Duty
All employees shall be given time off with pay to perform emergency civilian duty in relation to national defense or other emergency when so ordered by the Governor or by the President of the United States.Source: Agreement, Council of N.J. Leave of Absence for Military Service
A faculty member, other than a person holding a position for a fixed term or period, who enters the military service in time of war or emergency, or for any period of training, or pursuant to any selective service system, shall be entitled to a leave of absence without pay for the period of such service and three months after discharge. However, if a faculty member shall be incapacitated by a wound or illness at the time of discharge, such leave shall be extended until three months from recovery but in no event more than two years from date of discharge.Source: Agreement, Council of N.J.
