ACADEMIC STANDARDS
The Department consists of the Office of Cooperative Education and the Graduate Placement Office. New Jersey City University is the premier cooperative education university in the State of New Jersey. Students in all academic programs have an opportunity to participate in this innovative educational experience. To be eligible to take part in the Cooperative Education Program, a student must:
- have completed 45 academic credits
- have been accepted into a major field of study
- have a minimum 2.00 cumulative average
- have obtained the signature of the chairperson of the major, on the cooperative education application
Each student is supervised by a faculty coordinator who is responsible for developing learning objectives, approving a project and assigning a final grade for the experience.
The Graduate Placement Office assists students who are conducting job searches and/or self-assessments and students who desire accurate and timely career information. Services include, but are not limited to, vocational testing and an opportunity to submit resumes to a computerized database.
