MISSION STATEMENT The Division of Academic Affairs is committed to creating and sustaining a higher education environment for its students and faculty, grounded in a culture of evidence, that values excellent teaching, scholarly achievement, creative activity, service, and lifelong learning. The Division supports the mission of the University by providing high quality academic degree and certificate programs with urban and global perspectives. As the academic and intellectual core of the University, the Division of Academic Affairs is committed to providing students from rich and diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds a high quality education in an urban setting. Consequently, the Division's mission is to keep at the forefront the value of a liberal arts-based education for its students by supporting and maintaining a highly qualified and diverse faculty, dynamic, challenging and viable academic degree programs, and an integrated academic support system to assist student retention and achievement. |
