CAREER DEVELOPMENT
PROGRAM

Career Development applications are available each semester pending availability of funds and current contractual arrangements. Funds are awarded for the following activities:

  1. professional development as a result of the review of tenured faculty and multi-year contract employees.

  2. continuing education in the form of tuition; and

  3. travel related to workshop presentations and participation in summer institutes.

The awards typically range from $50 to $1,500. The Career Development Committee (CDC) is comprised of members of the bargaining unit, AFT and at least one person appointed by the administration. Recommendations by the CDC are forwarded to the Vice President for Academic Affairs who may accept, reject or modify each of the recommendations. Each year faculty and professional staff are invited to apply. Applications available each semester and summer sessions in Office of Academic Affairs.
