SIGI Plus is a computer program designed to aid students in their career exploration and self-assessment. SIGI Plus is interesting and easy to use. This program, along with the career professional counseling provided by the Office, assists students in selecting meaningful careers according to their interests and their major.
For students whose vocational goals are unclear, vocational aptitude testing and interest testing are available by appointment. Individual counseling is provided to discuss results, aid in career decisions, and develop appropriate career goals.
The Career Center Library offers students the opportunity to become informed about marketplace needs, careers, work issues, job qualifications, certifications, advanced education, resume writing, and interview preparation. The Center also provides graduate school catalogs and information on fellowships, scholarships, and financial assistance.
The seminar, Seeking Professional Employment, provides juniors and seniors with a working knowledge of marketplace trends, mechanics of seeking a position, writing professional resumes, and current work issues presented by employers. One academic elective credit is awarded to each student who successfully completes this seminar.
