The Mission of the Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs (OGSP) derives from the unique urban mission of New Jersey City University. Our role is to support the University's pursuit of excellence. Our purpose is to assist faculty and staff of the University in acquiring the necessary resources to improve our teaching and learning environment, to develop new institutional capabilities, to support more effectively the academic and career success of students, and to create needed services to the community and effective partnerships with other organizations.

To accomplish this mission, OGSP facilitates the activities of faculty and staff in seeking external support for their research and scholarly/creative projects. We assist in both pre-award and post-award aspects of the sponsored programs process, from finding potential funders and developing program ideas to getting the proposal out the door to problem-solving during implementation to submitting the final grant report to the funding agency.
