Catalog Description
The candidate may elect to do independent research by
enrolling in this course.
Pre-requisite: MA 660
or permission of Department Chairperson
2. Goals
of the Course
1.
The student
will complete an acceptable thesis.
2.
Research
skills used for the thesis will reflect skills learned in the Research Seminar.
3.
Appropriate
use of research design, statistical analysis, and research reporting will be
exhibited in the thesis.
4.
Each student
will work independently; but utilize his/her Advisor for advice and suggestions when necessary.
5.
Computers and
statistical packages will be used as needed.
6.
Each student
will adhere to the adopted format, proper English, logical reasoning, and
neatness when writing the thesis.
3. Instructional Procedures
Each advisor
will provide instruction, material and assignments to the student, if and when
needed. The student’s progress with the thesis will be discussed and evaluated
either online or during office meetings. When appropriate, meetings may occur in a
computer lab.
4. Course Content
There is no
content which is specific to this course. Many of the topics studied in MA 660
will be used. In some cases, the individual Faculty Advisor may present some
content needed to help a student with a particular thesis.

Thesis 100%
Note: Students who submit a minimally acceptable thesis will
not receive an A. Students who do not complete a thesis, have made little
progress, and can not finish an acceptable thesis within one additional
semester will receive a grade of F.
