Program Goals

Through education, and the provision of services, the Center encourages women to gain and maintain control over their lives. We hope to increase the numbers of women, both younger and older, who enroll in New Jersey City University and to help them reach their personal and professional goals through the following means:

1.
INFORMAL COUNSELING AND REFERRAL SERVICES
Responding to the needs of women for help in such areas as divorce, battering, reproductive rights, sexual identity, legal issues, child custody, health issues, aging and other life changes.
2.
SERVICES
Support groups, brief counseling and referral to the appropriate resources, assistance with personal growth, resume assistance, career information, assistance with returning to and staying in school, resource center.
3.
WORKSHOPS
Date Rape, HIV Prevention, Safer Sex, How to Finance Your University Education, Self-esteem Group, Child Abuse, How to Start Your Own Business, etc.
4.
LEGAL CLINIC
Free consultation with an Attorney. (by appointment only)
5.
LEGAL SEMINARS
Lectures by attorneys in areas of Family Law, Elder Law & Estates, Wills & Living Wills
6.
