Gerald Swords, a staff member of New Jersey City University’s Grounds Department, is the recipient of the Employee Recognition Award for the month of March.
Mr. Swords began his career at NJCU as an elevator operator in the A. Harry Moore School in 1994. He was promoted to senior building maintenance worker in 1999, and was again promoted to the staff of NJCU’s Grounds Department in 2002.
His duties include keeping the University’s grounds neat and clean all over campus. He has worked on every part of the University grounds, including the Tidelands Athletics Complex and NJCU property on West Side Avenue.
Mr. Swords resides in his hometown, Jersey City, where he has lived since childhood. He enjoys reading and walking in his leisure time.
