Maria
Ciraco, secretarial assistant to the dean of the Deborah Cannon Partridge
Wolfe College of Education, is the recipient of the Employee of the Month
Award for April 2007.
After working for 10 years in the Personnel Department at Dunn & Bradstreet in New York City and taking time off to raise her children, Mrs. Ciraco began her career at New Jersey City University in 1986 as part-time secretary to the dean of students. She continued in the position full-time for over 16 years. She then transferred to the History Department, where she worked closely with the Department chair, Professor Robert Elliott, and “had the pleasure of working with a wonderful group of professors.”
In 2003, Mrs. Ciraco was promoted to secretarial assistant 2 in the Office of the Dean of the College of Education and worked with Dr. Muriel Rand. Currently, she works with Dr. Ivan Banks, interim dean, and Ms. Lourdes Sutton, executive assistant to the dean. In this rewarding position, Mrs. Ciraco manages the Dean's Office and successfully coordinates the interactions of the departments reporting to the dean.
Mrs. Ciraco and her husband, Dom, have two grown daughters, Lisa and Laura.
