andersonWayne “Skinner” Anderson, an officer in New Jersey City University’s Public Safety Department, is the recipient of the Employee Recognition Award for the Month of April 2008.

Mr. Anderson began his employment at the University in 1990 as a parking lot attendant. The following year he became a full-time security guard and was promoted to security officer in 1992.

Officer Anderson has worked all three shifts as a member of the Public Safety Department and served as desk officer on the midnight shift from 2004 to 2005. Since 2005, Mr. Anderson has been assigned as the permanent desk officer on the 4:00 p.m. to midnight shift.

He has displayed excellent judgment in decision-making and handling stressful situations while on duty. He is respected throughout the University community for his professionalism and fine customer service skills.

Officer Anderson has been trained in the use of CPR, first aid, and defibrillators. He has also completed training for first responders and desk officers in addition to NJCU’s bi-annual public safety departmental training.

In his leisure time, Officer Anderson is an avid sports fan. He enjoys collecting coins and sports cards and caring for his four cats and two dogs.

Officer Anderson resides in Bayonne with family members including, his parents, a brother, two uncles, and an aunt.
