Rosemary Rivera, a senior clerk typist in the Payroll
Department, is the recipient of the Employee Recognition Award for the month
of June.
Ms. Rivera has been a member of the staff of New Jersey City University since 1997. She began employment at the University as a secretary to Dr. William Maxwell, a distinguished service professor of history and education and president emeritus.
Since 1998, Ms. Rivera has worked in the Human Resources Office, where she is responsible for entering payroll hours for students and other hourly employees. In addition, she is responsible for assisting employees in the resolution of payroll problems and helps distribute checks on pay days.
Ms. Rivera has been actively involved with the Roberto Clemente Little League since 1990, serving through the years as the vice president of girls softball, director of concession stands, sponsor representative, and treasurer. She also coached and managed for five years.
Ms. Rivera lives in Jersey City with her sons, Joel and Jaime.
