David Howard, a program aide in the A. Harry Moore
School, is the recipient of the Employee Recognition Award for the month of August.
Mr. Howard, who began his career at New Jersey City University in December 1992, will be promoted to teacher’s assistant when the new school year begins in September. He assists A. Harry Moore School students who are between the ages of 13 and 21, helping them with their braces, personal hygiene and grooming, and other assistance they may require.
In his leisure time Mr. Howard enjoys working on his computer and managing “Uniquely Abled,” a club he established to help current students and graduates of the A. Harry Moore School raise funds for trips. Last year a group of 12 traveled to Jamaica; this year another group of 12 will visit the Dominican Republic.
Mr. Howard is a life-long resident of Jersey City. The youngest of five children, he has three brothers and one sister.
