    Mr. Holley, who was a Peace Corps Volunteer, has been teaching ESL since 1981. He has taught in Togo, West Africa, and Egypt. He has been at New Jersey City University since 1988. He has a baccalaureate degree in English literature from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio and a master's degree from Hunter College in New York.

    Mr. Holley has taught at various universities and colleges within the tri-state area. He believes that second language literacy, or the ability to read, write, speak and listen, as well as engage in critical thinking are vital skills that adults need in order to fully participate in a democracy and a global economy.

    He has a keen ongoing interest in computer technology, specifically in the role that the Internet, and distance learning can have in enhancing second language literacy for ESL students and has participated in various technology-related projects which have contributed to NJCU's ESL Program.
