New Jersey City University is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification.

New Jersey City University is also an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and the National Association of Schools of Music.

The Business Administration Program is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs.
