As a dually
admitted student to HCCC and NJCU, we enthusiastically welcome you to New
Jersey City University, Campus Without Borders®. Though NJCU technically spans
approximately 40 acres, the opportunities to learn know no bounds. We invite
you to consider the entire metropolitan area (including the HCCC campus) as
your campus. Take what you learn in the classroom and travel to area museums,
concerts, lectures and sporting venues and more. You will discover experiences
that go well beyond what you thought a university experience could be.
So while we
encourage you to travel the entire metropolitan area, we will give you an
academic passport to document your travels. Keep it with you throughout your
years at HCCC and NJCU. Ask that it be stamped at all the places and events you
attend both on and off the NJCU and HCCC campuses. Or bring proof of attendance
to designated offices on either campus for a stamp.
If by the time of your NJCU
graduation you have at least 100 stamps you will be eligible to wear a
recognition cord with your cap and gown. Whether as part of a class assignment,
an extra-curricular activity or as your own excursion, always think of Jersey
City, Hudson County and New York City as part of your campuses. Absorb all you
can while you are here and make a commitment to yourself that you will take
every opportunity presented to gain the broadest of educational experiences.
After all, our location is one of our greatest assets.
