High School Summer Scholars

Getting Connected

New Jersey City University will be offering select high achieving students an opportunity to enroll in college-level courses for the summer session II term. Courses will run from July 5th to August 8th at NJCU. This program provides students with a head start for college at a reduced tuition rate and will expose them to a vibrant University environment. Register today for a world class experience prior to graduating High School.

ELIGIBILITY

Students who wish to participate in this program should submit the following:

  • The NJCU High School Summer Scholars application.
  • A personal statement explaining your motivation for attending this program.
  • An official high school transcript reflecting all years of high school study.
  • Letter of recommendation from guidance counselor
  • SAT or PSAT scores (if available)

Students who are selected for the program should possess a record of academic achievement along with a demonstrated motivation for academic success. Admission to the program will be based on a combination of high school grades, test scores and the quality of their written personal statement. Students may be required to take the NJCU placement exam as a condition for enrollment.

COST

Students who are admitted to the program will be charged a reduced rate of tuition and fees. The cost of a 3-credit summer II 2016 course will be $555.15, which includes a 50% discount off of the regular tuition and fees.

ENROLLMENT PROCESS

CHECKLIST

  • Apply to the NJCU High School Summer Scholars Program by completing the online NJCU High School Summer Scholars Admissions Application.
  • Indicate the course you wish to enroll in on the High School Summer Scholars Application
  • Submit a High School Transcrip
  • Submit a personal statement explaining your motivation for attending this program
  • Submit a letter of recommendation from your guidance counselor

Upon acceptance to the program you will be contacted by the Admissions Office. You will be informed of your acceptance into the program and confirmation of the availability of the course you selected. Your registration will be finalized upon full payment of tuition.
