  • NJCU is pleased to introduce Office 365 for Students


    Please be advised that the Department of Information Technology has recently transitioned all student email accounts to Microsoft Office 365, which now offers enhanced email and communication services.

    NJCU is pleased to provide our students with access to the Microsoft Office 365 suite of tools and services, which include: 

    Email and Calendars  Cloud-based email and calendars powered by Microsoft Exchange Online using your domain name.
    • 25 GB storage per user
    Web Conferencing  Rich online meetings with audio and video, desktop sharing, and virtual whiteboard.
    • Excellent for distance learning
    Office Web Apps  Create and edit Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft OneNote documents using most all major web browsers.
    Team Sites  Share files and documents with classmates. Create team, study group, or club sites.
    • Up to 300 sub sites

    With Office 365, you will now have two separate accounts:

    1. Office 365 Account 
      • Email:  Students will continue to use their current Live@edu username and password to access their email through Microsoft's Outlook web app, Outlook Live  (https://www.outlook.com/njcu.edu), or through many popular desktop and mobile email clients, including Outlook and Apple Mail.  The NJCU logo is not shown when logging into the Office 365 account online, but NJCU Department of IT still administers this account.  NOTE:  Student e-mail addresses and passwords did not change. 

      • File Sharing:  Microsoft SharePoint Online will be used for sharing files and Microsoft Office Web Apps for creating and reading documents.

      • Instant Messaging and Online Meetings:  Students will have access to Microsoft Lync Online for both instant messaging and online meetings.

    1. Personal Microsoft Account (to access SkyDrive) 
      • Additional Microsoft cloud tools and services, including SkyDrive, are provided using a personal Microsoft Account. A free personal account has been automatically created using each student's existing Live@edu username and password.  Important Note:  This account is separate from the Office 365 (email) account and is administered by Microsoft, not NJCU.

      • Sign into the personal Microsoft Account (to access SkyDrive) using your Live@edu user name and password.  Students can reset the password for their personal account by visiting https://account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx.

      • Be sure to visit and bookmark SkyDrive at https://skydrive.live.com.

    If you use Internet Explorer 7 or earlier, you will need to upgrade to a newer version of Internet Explorer.
