Steps to Access the New NJCU Email System (Microsoft Live@edu)
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please complete the following steps in order to access the new NJCU Email System and review the
Email FAQs for additional help and information.
Step 1: Change Your GothicNet Password
This is a required step in order to access the new NJCU Email System for the
first time only. (Note: You will also use your new GothicNet password to access the GothicNet portal.)
Step 2: Log into the new NJCU Email System
To access the new NJCU Email system you will use your NJCU Email address and your new GothicNet password.
Note: When you access the new email system, you will be prompted for your Microsoft account. You will use the following credentials:
- Your NJCU Email Address (e.g., jdoe@njcu.edu)
- Your New GothicNet Password

Live@edu is Microsoft’s Exchange Email cloud service that uses Outlook Web App (OWA) as the access client. In addition to managing your Email, Live@edu serves as a simplified personal information manager (PIM) and an access point to a wide range of Microsoft cloud services:
- Access from any Computer or Mobile Device with Internet Connection
- Large storage size for email (10GB)
- Support for up to 20MB attachments
- Password protected 25GB of online file storage (SkyDrive)
- A powerful calendar including group calendaring functions
- IM, Video Call, Photos, etc.
- Ability to access, view and edit documents from anywhere using MS Office on the web
- Protection from viruses, spam and phishing attacks
