NNJCU to Offer One-Day ‘Heartsaver CPR’ for Lay Rescuers
New Jersey City University will offer one-day “Heartsaver CPR” courses for lay rescuers on Thursday, October 8; Thursday, November 12; and Tuesday, December 15.
Offered through NJCU’s Office of Continuing Education, all courses will meet 10:00 a.m. –2:00 p.m., on the University campus at 2039 Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City. Registration for each course is $50.00.
“Heartsaver CPR” teaches CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO) to all lay rescuers, particularly those who are expected to respond to emergencies in the workplace. The course teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest, breathing difficulties, and choking for adults, children, and infants.
Instructor for all course sessions will be Mark Cohen of CPR and First Aid Consulting Firm in Red Bank.
