NJCU to Offer 'Certified Billing/Coding Specialist' Course on Monday and Wednesday Evenings
New Jersey City University will offer a “Certified Billing/Coding Specialist” course on Tuesdays and Thursdays, October 20 through December 10.
Offered by NJCU’s Office of Continuing Education, the 60-hour course, which prepares students to take the examination to become a Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS), will be held 6:00 – 9:50 p.m. on the University campus at 2039 Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City.
A medical coder or CBCS converts medical procedures, diagnoses and symptoms into specific codes for insurance reimbursement.
Course topics will include submitting, tracing, and appealing claims; managed care systems, Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans Administration and Workers Compensation, and compliance regulations.
Course registration, which must be completed by October 8, is $995.00.
Course instructor will be Herbert Brandt, R.Ph. of Select Professional Services in Verona.
