NJCU to Offer Four Computer Courses for Adults on Saturdays
New Jersey City University will offer four non-credit computer courses for adults on Saturdays this fall. Offered through NJCU’s Office of Continuing Education, all courses will meet on the University campus at 2039 Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City.
“Introduction to Microsoft Word,” “Online Business Webpage,” and “Getting Started with Adobe Flash CS4” will meet on Saturdays, September 12 through September 26.
“Introduction to Microsoft Word,” which will meet 9:00 a.m. – 12:20 p.m., will cover the basics of word processing using the Windows-based application. Students will learn how to create documents and move from one to another within Word and the Microsoft Office Suite. Registration is $100.00.
“Online Business Webpage,” which will meet 12:40 – 4:00 p.m., will cover the strategies and tools that may be used to create a small business online. The course covers web publishing, fundamentals of purpose, audience, content, structure, plan, and implementation. Registration is $100.00.
“Getting Started with Adobe Flash CS4,” which will meet 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., will cover Adobe Flash, the industry-standard software for creating vector-based rich media communication content. Through hands-on practice, students will learn the basics of content creation and the fundamentals of interactivity in ActionScript3. Registration is $150.00.
“Introduction to Excel” will meet 9:00 a.m. – 12:25 p.m. on Saturdays, October 10 through October 24. This overview of Excel, Microsoft Office’s spreadsheet program, covers developing and editing spreadsheets, adding basic formulas into cells, converting spreadsheets into charts and graphs, and creating, editing, formatting, organizing, and documenting worksheets. Registration is $100.00.
