Lori Funicello Summers Named Director of Development at NJCU
Lori Funicello Summers of Parsippany, a seasoned fundraising professional with experience in the non-profit sector, has been named director of development at New Jersey City University.
As director of development, Ms. Summers will be responsible for overseeing the University’s Annual Fund, major gifts and planned giving program, research, and other special projects. She will direct all aspects of development and fundraising support.
Ms. Summers will work closely with Khatmeh Osseiran-Hanna, NJCU vice president for university advancement; the University’s development staff and Office of Alumni Relations; annual and corporate/foundation donors; and members of the NJCU administration to cultivate and expand financial support of the University.
Immediately prior to joining NJCU’s Division of University Advancement, Ms. Summers had served for one year as director of major gifts and planned giving for the Chilton Memorial Hospital Foundation. Previously, she was associate director of development for major gifts at Bank Street College of Education.
Ms. Summers also served Columbia University Medical Center for five years, first as a development associate and then as director of development for major gifts.
Ms. Summers holds a master of arts degree in higher and post-secondary education administration from Teacher’s College, Columbia University and a bachelor of arts degree from State University of New York at New Paltz, where she majored in philosophy and minored in psychology.
