Biography

Dr. Sai Jambunathan’s philosophy of teaching is to make learning a meaningful and enjoyable experience for all involved. Dr. Jambunathan’s research interests include developmentally appropriate practices, teacher beliefs about the use of developmentally appropriate practices, cross-cultural comparisons of parenting attitudes and children’s perception of self-competence. She has presented papers in many international and national conferences. She has also published in many refereed journals.

Dr. Jambunathan has carved a niche for herself in studying parenting and children’s issues among Asian Indians. She has been invited by leading refereed journals and conferences to review research articles and paper presentations. Dr. Jambunathan has been the recipient of many awards and grants. She is frequently invited by early childhood programs in India and the United States to present professional development workshops.

Awards and Honors

Early Learning Improvement Consortium Award granted by the Department of Education for $160,000.00 per year for three years with Dr. Juncker.

Separately Budgeted Research funds granted by New Jersey City University.
