The Jersey City Web Site Project has received recognition from award granting
programs on the state, local and national levels. In 2003, it received a Special Projects Grant from the New Jersey Historical Commission, a division of Cultural Affairs in the Department of State. It greatly assisted the project director and content researcher to establish the basic format for the web site and compose a majority of the essays for the web site. In 2004, the Jersey City Web Site Project was awarded the Owen J. Grundy Prize in history from the Jersey City Landmarks Conservancy, Inc. The following year, it was awarded a "certificate of commendation" from the American Association for State and Local History.
