The 2010 Summer Session Tuition Deferment Plan is an option provided by the University to assist current NJCU students who are motivated to continue their studies but face economic challenges in paying the tuition by the payment deadline.

In order to participate in the plan, you must submit an application certifying you are eligible and agree to the terms of the plan as outlined below.

Please understand that this deferment—

Terms and Conditions of the NJCU 2010 Summer Session Tuition Deferment Plan

  1. NJCU provides the option of a delayed payment plan for the 2010 summer session enrollment period. There is $100 tuition deposit fee due with the completed application. If a student chooses to register for each summer session separately, then a $100 tuition deposit is due with each separate application.  The plan can be used only for tuition and fee costs and will not be processed until the student is registered.

  2. The plan is made available only to continuing undergraduate and graduate NJCU students who have

    • completed at least two consecutive semesters of enrollment at the University (including the Spring 2010 semester)
    • earned a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average (undergraduate students) and 3.0 cumulative grade point average (graduate students)
    • completed a Summer 2010 Financial Aid Request Form (which requires a 2009-2010 FAFSA) (undergraduate students only)
    • completed the 2010-11 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (undergraduate students only)
    • do not have an outstanding balance due on their account

  3. This plan is not available to visiting students or students already receiving a tuition waiver.

  4. An application must be submitted for each term of enrollment (i.e. Summer Session I and Summer Session II) by the established payment deadline dates of May 13th for Summer Session I and June 24th for Summer Session II.

  5. By completing an application, the student agrees to pay NJCU the full tuition and fee amount incurred by October 1, 2010.  If a student withdraws from a class (or classes), payment becomes due and payable immediately.

  6. If the student elects to use/apply for financial aid programs (i.e. Federal Stafford Loans, grants, scholarships, etc.), proceeds received from those programs will first be used as immediate payment(s) to the amount owed for the current term.

  7. The student agrees to permit NJCU to utilize any subsequent term’s financial aid disbursements (i.e. Federal Stafford Loans, grants, scholarships, etc.) to pay any balance due prior to the October 1, 2010 payments date.

  8. If a student has a past due balance from a prior term, you will not be eligible to use the 2010 Summer Session Tuition Deferment Plan until the repayment of the past due balance. For additional questions regarding this application, please contact the Bursars Office at 1-201-200-3045.

  9. The student must be registered for the Fall 2010 semester at the time of the request.

  10. Student’s using the option of deferring summer tuition and fees through October 1, 2010 are encouraged to budget accordingly to avoid problems in meeting the October 1st payment deadline. Student’s can make payments any time prior to October 1 without additional deferment fees.
