Steps to Take After Your Acceptance to NJCU

  • After Your Acceptance to NJCU.....

    Upon completion, your transfer credit evaluation is mailed to your attention. In addition, a copy of the complete evaluation is sent to the major department of your choice.

    Here are the next steps.....

    1.  Transfer Orientation 
    There is an orientation designed specifically for transfer students in the Fall and in the Spring. Information on the orientation is usually mailed to transfer students a few weeks before Orientation.
    2.  Declare Your Major 
    As a transfer student, you are eligible to declare your major if you transfered in 32 or more credits.  Please download this Declaration of Major form, complete it and submit it to the University Advisement Center, Vodra Hall Rm. 101 as soon as possible.
    3.  Advisement/Registering for Classes 
    If your transfer evaluation indicates that you’ve been awarded 32 or more credits and you know what you'd like to major in, please contact your academic department for advisement.  Please click here to access the Major Department Contact list. 
    If you have less than 32 credits and have not declared a major and, please contact the the University Advisement Center at 201-200-3300 to make an appointment with an academic advisor.
    4.  Final Transcripts 
    Please ensure that the Transfer Resource Center has received a copy of your final transcript from any and all previous college-level institutions attended.  If you earned a degree, the final transcript must be updated to include information that the degree has been posted.  Please be advised that all final transcripts must be submitted by the 6th week of receipt of initial transfer credit evaluation.
