Division of University Advancement

Welcome, Friends!

The reorganization of the Division of University Advancement will enhance the scope of our work in promoting strong collaborative relationships within the University as well as with external constituencies. By nurturing ties with our alumni, corporate partners, the campus community of students, staff and faculty, and our neighbors and friends, we will build a base of support that will enrich and sustain the University in the days ahead.

Every aspect of our work—in alumni relations, donor cultivation, community affairs, communications and marketing—serves to strengthen the University. Our development strategies provide the University with greater fiscal stability in uncertain times and our communications component tells the story of this vibrant academic institution in its unique urban setting.

I invite you to spend some time on our Web pages, and to visit us in Hepburn Hall. You may be surprised to discover the many ways we may be of service to you, your endeavors, and the University.

Vice President for University Advancement

Alumna's Bequest
a Lasting Tribute

gordon photoA bequest of nearly $1 million to the NJCU Foundation, Inc. from the estate of Mildred Hillel Gordon (’33) pays tribute to the alumna’s lifelong devotion to education and fondness for her college years.

“Mrs. Gordon’s legacy as a caring, committed educator will continue for generations to come,” said Khatmeh Osseiran-Hanna, vice president for university advancement.

Mrs. Gordon’s career included posts as an elementary school teacher, district reading supervisor, and university professor. Mrs. Gordon was 92 when she died in 2004.
