The Office of Development provides strategic funding for the University by encouraging generous support of the Annual Fund by alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of NJCU, and by developing new initiatives within the corporate and business communities.These programs may include corporate sponsorship of events, academic programs, and research facilities as well as job opportunities, scholarships, and mentorship for students. As New Jersey’s fiscal crisis has cut critical funding in higher education, such support has never been more important to the University.Every contribution provides an opportunity to enhance NJCU and improve the future for its students. Gifts are designated as being part of the Gothic Tradition or the Gothic Legacy.The Gothic Tradition of giving through the Annual Fund, class reunion gifts, and scholarships provides the University with resources to meet current expenses, provide tuition assistance to worthy students, and sponsor special programs.The Gothic Legacy category represents donations at a higher level, including endowed gifts and the planned giving of annuities, real estate, and other equity through wills and estates. These gifts provide for the University’s future. The distribution of all of the funds raised by the Office of Development is determined by the NJCU Foundation, Inc. Board of Directors.
