New 7-Week Sessions + Flexible Online Study for Business Graduate Students
Recognizing that graduate students are often balancing full-time jobs and families and having more study options are critical, our School of Business has moved to seven-week graduate sessions instead of the traditional fall, spring and summer semesters. This streamlined, accelerated format will allow the NJCU School of Business to offer more courses and help its graduate students complete their degrees quickly. Full-time students may complete their program in one year, and part-time students may finish in two years. Plus, all graduate classes will have HyFlex or Asynchonous online options. Learn more.
Dance
#Joffrey2020 #BFA NJCU has partnered with the world-renowned Joffrey to offer a level of professional dance preparation that no other schools can match.* Starting in the fall of 2020, high school students in the highly competitive NYC-based Joffrey Trainee Program may begin work towards an NJCU college degree. After completing the Joffrey program, they may attend NJCU and earn a B.F.A. in as little as two more years.
In the near future, prospective college students who aren't in the Joffrey Trainee Program may also benefit from the partnership by applying directly to the NJCU-Joffrey B.F.A in Dance program. Those accepted will earn something truly unique: A full college experience on a lively and diverse campus in Jersey City minutes away from NYC, the center of the dance world; a highly respected degree; artistic growth; and the professional training and network that only Joffrey can offer.
Financial Technology
#FinTech: Our School of Business just launched a new Master of Science in Financial Technology program, the first of its kind in New Jersey, and one of only a handful in the U.S. to focus on this rapidly growing sector of the finance industry.
We aim to produce graduates who are adept at problem solving and providing real-world solutions to today’s—and tomorrow’s—business challenges. Students will learn about the latest financial tools and techniques and engage in hands-on practice with leading technologies in artificial intelligence, blockchain and more. They may apply these skills to work in a variety of specialties, such as improving tools for banking consumers, designing proprietary financial systems, using artificial intelligence to optimize investments or working with cryptocurrencies. No matter what they decide to pursue professionally, students also benefit from studying at the business school’s location in Jersey City’s Exchange Place district, the financial hub of New Jersey.
Business Analytics and Data Science
#SchoolOfBusiness: Many universities have data analytics degrees, but our Business Analytics and Data Science programs are unique because they are more about problem-solving than programming. We focus on showing students how to use data to glean insights that lead to practical business solutions in the real world. Plus, our location in Jersey City's Exchange Place district gives us access to major financial companies in NJ and NYC—which means internships and jobs for our students.
Our M.S. degree program was launched two years ago, and already our graduates are working at places like IBM, Verisk analytics, Bloomberg and Deloitte. Our B.S. program just launched—and we can't wait to see how far those students go after they graduate.
Cyber Security Studies
#CyberSecurity: Our National Security Studies program is one of a few in the country to have federal designations in both as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense and an Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence.
Whether you are an entry-level professional or in the executive suite, we offer the programs that will help you advance in this evolving field. We have National Security Agency and Committee on National Security Systems certificates, as well as a B.S., and M.S. degree. And, our doctoral program was one of the first of its kind in the United States.
Online Teacher Education Programs
#OnlineDegrees: Not only do we have teacher education programs in cutting-edge fields like Educational Technology and Educational Leadership, but we also allow students to complete these programs online. Other online programs include New Pathways for individuals with bachelor's degrees who wish to become certified teachers, a master's level Literacy Education degree with certification, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching degree.
