MSCHE Accreditation Action

MSCHE Accreditation Action

NJCU is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE)1. NJCU submitted its Periodic Review Report (PRR) in June 2015. The Commission has re-affirmed accreditation. The University will submit a Monitoring Report by October 1, 2017. The language from the MSCHE action is:

"To accept the Periodic Review Report and to reaffirm accreditation. To request a monitoring report, due October 1, 2017, documenting further development and implementation of (1) a documented, organized, and sustained assessment process to evaluate and improve the total range of programs and services and achievement of institutional mission, goals, and plans (Standard 7); (2) the assessment of the effectiveness of the new general education curriculum (Standard 12); (3) a plan for assessing student learning and evidence that such assessment results are utilized for curricular improvement in general education (Standard 12); and (4) evidence that student learning assessment information is shared and discussed with appropriate constituents and is used to improve teaching and learning (Standard 14)."

A university-wide effort will address this requirement, and will make use of existing entities such as the General Education committees, the Program Assessment Coordinating Committee, and Cabinet.
