Registration Procedures

After you have completed the admissions process and have been accepted into a program of study, you are ready to register for courses. In order to see available online courses, click Online Course Offerings on the navigational bar to the left. You may also find online courses listed in the Graduate and Undergraduate course schedules.

GothicNet Portal
Whether you are a graduate or undergraduate student, you will register online using GothicNet - NJCU's enterprise portal. Students use GothicNet to find and enroll in classes, look up financial aid, pay bills, and review grades. Use of GothicNet, including registration for online courses, requires that you have an assigned GothicNet ID and password. This information will be mailed to newly accepted students prior to registration.

To enroll in an online course through GothicNet follow these steps:

  • Click on the Student Dashboard tab > Enroll for Courses.
  • Select the semester for which you are enrolling.
  • Type in the 4 digit course number for the course you would like to take.
  • View your course schedule to make sure that you are enrolled for the correct course.

Undergraduate online courses are scheduled through the University’s Department of Registration Services. Registration is limited to students who are currently enrolled at New Jersey City University. If you are interested in applying to NJCU, please contact the Admissions Office at (888)441-NJCU or visit the NJCU website at for further information and online application.

Visiting Students
Visiting undergraduate students who are enrolled at other colleges or universities may enroll in online courses at NJCU by following the instructions below. Visiting students are not required to complete a formal application to New Jersey City University, but must present the Registrar with the following:

  • A completed NJCU visiting Undergraduate registration form.
  • A permission letter from the university the student is attending stating the course titles, and authorized by a proper authority, or
  • A copy of a university transcript, or a copy of the student's high school diploma.

Students who wish to register for graduate level online courses must be accepted for admission to Graduate Studies at NJCU. If you have not yet applied for admission to Graduate Studies, you must first do so in order to register for your course(s).
