Undergraduate applicants must have completed 60 credits, be in good academic standing with a CGPA of 3.5 or higher, have a A- or better in the subject to be tutored, and be available for training before the semester begins. Transfer students must complete one semester at NJCU before applying. Please note that the hiring process is competitive; therefore, submitting an application does not guarantee employment.

The Hub’s training program adheres to the guidelines of the International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) set by the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA). Training sessions are scheduled one week prior to the semester and conducted by faculty and professional staff. Training components are listed below.
In addition to CRLA certification requirements, Hub tutors are required to attend Continuing Tutor Training (CTT) as implemented by The Hub, which includes workshops in specific areas related to NJCU classes and campus leadership. This allows for a holistic approach to tutoring as tutors not only assist with academic support, but tutors are aware of the student support services throughout the campus.
