"My experience at NJCU was wonderful! Without the R.N. to B.S.N. program, my life would be completely different. NJCU is the reason I am employed in a workplace that I love and in a career that I love. There was a world of opportunities available to me at NJCU and it was genuinely life changing.”
Take courses online, in the classroom, and blended formats.
You take your career seriously, and so do we. Just as you have a responsibility to your patients, we have a responsibility to the profession to educate and socialize nurses to serve their workplaces and their communities in the best ways possible.
The NJCU Nursing Department serves the educational needs of current registered nurses or bachelor’s degree-holders looking to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Learn About Undergraduate Programs
Our R.N. to B.S.N. and 12-month Accelerated B.S.N. programs are rooted in excellent teaching, personal attention and a sound curriculum. Both programs are offered at our Jersey City campus and our Fort Monmouth location to accommodate the flexibility needs of our busy students.
NJCU also offers a part-time Master of Science (MS) with a Major in Nursing, Specializing in Nursing Education and a Post-Master’s Certificate Program. Students can complete the 37-credit MS degree program in approximately two years, and may begin the program in either the spring or the fall. The program is designed to provide a solid foundation for nurses to transition to careers as nurse educators.
Our graduates develop leadership and critical thinking skills that make them assets to the profession. Whether you want to pursue graduate study, develop your expertise in a specialty area or assume a leadership position, the NJCU Nursing Department can help you get there. Our outstanding faculty members are experienced nurses and excellent teachers who create a supportive, interactive learning environment.
We understand that some of the most effective learning happens outside the classroom. That’s why we partner with numerous clinical sites that offer a range of experience. From hospitals to hospice, from home care to behavioral health, opportunities abound to sharpen your skills and build new ones.
Hospitals and health systems are eager to employ baccalaureate-prepared nurses because they have a demonstrated a record of success and a well-defined work ethic that facilitates a more rapid and smooth transition into highly complex healthcare delivery environments.
Graduates of the RN to BSN and Accelerated BSN programs are prepared for a wide range of career options working in such fields as:
