Our Students
57 are students currently enrolled. Approximately two-thirds are students of color and approximately two-thirds are women. Almost half of our students are from out of state (Kansas, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington).

Students Getting Published!
In our doctoral program, we emphasize the importance of being a scholarly practitioners and students are doing just that! Several students are now published authors, with their work being shared in prestigious journals. Four of our students had part of their dissertation work published in CPED’s open access, peer-reviewed journal: Impacting Education: Journal on Transforming Professional Practice. Check out their articles! Two other students, Amy Hankins (Cohort 1) and Kimberlee Hooper (Cohort 2) have had their work accepted for publication in this journal so be on the lookout for their articles.

Erika Carlson (Cohort 1) also received news that her article Fundamental Components of Personalized Coaching Models for Faculty: Addressing Inequities in Learning Outcomes Data, will be published in an upcoming issue of the Journal of Higher Education Assessment.
One of our doctoral students collaborated with faculty and other experts in the field on an article that was published in the Community College Journal of Research and Practice.

Christine Harrington was promoted to Full Professor!
Congratulations to Dr. Harrington on being promoted to full professor!
Dr. Harrington’s latest edition of Student Success in College: Doing What Works! 4th edition, a research-based first-year seminar textbook, was released in 2022.
Check out this article on instructor positionality by Christine Harrington that was published in Inside Higher Education. She also co-published with Adele Macula and John Melendez a chapter titled Responding to Adult Learner Student Needs in the COVID-19 Pandemic: Modifying Online Graduate Courses in Education to Seize Teachable Moments in Teaching in the Post COVID-19 Era
Christine Harrington was appointed to the editorial boards of two journals: Impacting Education: Journal on Transforming the Professional Practice and the Innovative Higher Education.
Christine Harrington is also serving as the Editor for the Exchange section of the Community College Journal of Research and Practice.
Mike Sparrow’s article Supporting Adult Students with Improved Enrollment Practices will be published this fall in the College and University Journal, a flagship journal of the American Associate of Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).
