Mark Yedlin will discuss a project a few miles north of NJCU campus to mitigate the effects of construction on the NJ-495 viaduct over Paterson Plank Road.  A combination of lanes and ramps will be closed soon for 30 months. Greenman-Pederson Inc. (GPI) is using a variety of state-of-the-art computer models for travel demand forecasts, dynamic traffic assignment and traffic simulation to develop and test plans to minimize construction related traffic delays through the area. The presentation will include both 2-D and 3-D animation sequences of expected traffic operations during construction as simulated by PTV’s Vissim model.

After this presentation, Mark will enable participants to take a “Virtual Reality” (VR) bike ride across the George Washington Bridge.

Mark Yedlin, Director of Simulation Modeling, has over 40 years of experience as a transportation professional specializing in the development and application of traffic simulation models to evaluate proposed improvements to traffic operations.
