From Documentary Photography to Conceptual Projects: A Journey Through the Evolution of Photojournalism

Photojournalism is facing two main challenges. Digital technology has questioned its credibility and the changing media landscape has made it evolve more and more from storytelling to conceptualization, from press work to art work which might be good news for the communities documented. Maybe not?

Michael Bührer is a Swiss-French freelance photographer and journalist who focuses mainly on social, political and human rights issues. Working actively since the 1970s, he has covered stories in Africa, the Middle East, Asia, the U.S.A. and in most of Europe. In addition, he has published seven books and exhibits actively around the world.

Organized by Dr. Peri Yuksel.
Light refreshments will be served.
